My Story
My story all started with a bike, somewhere in the countryside of the Netherlands. Just a little girl who fell in love with the feeling of the wind through her hair, getting dirty, doing skids, and hitting BMX jumps.
I grew up in the Netherlands and got on my first BMX bike at just 3 years old. From that moment on, I was hooked. What started as pure fun quickly turned into something bigger, racing, traveling, pushing limits, and eventually becoming a two-time World Champion in BMX.
The love for riding bikes kept growing, and I fell in love with mountain biking, especially the gravity disciplines. I loved ripping down mountains and pushing my limits. It was a different kind of challenge than BMX, a different kind of freedom, but the same feeling at its core. Being out on the trails, constantly learning, progressing, and connecting with an incredible community. I worked my way to the top and won the MTB World Championships four times. A dream come true!
In 2015, I was honored with the ‘Spirit Award’ at the Crankworx World Tour. This was truly special, probably just as special as winning the World Championships. It meant so much to be recognized by the mountain bike community, showing that what I did in the sport mattered: supporting the next generation and sharing my love for bikes.
I have lived in the USA for over 15 years and currently call beautiful Northwest Arkansas home. I retired from racing in 2021 (unfortunately due to a car accident) and am now a full-time coach. Back in the day, my goal was to be the fastest racer—nowadays, my goal is to help others become better and safer riders, and to coach the next generation of shredders to reach their full potential.
Over my lifetime, I’ve spent countless hours in riding gear and developed a deep appreciation for it. Not just how it looks, but how it fits, how it performs, and how it makes you feel when you ride. I always paid attention to the details, and over the years, a dream started to grow:

A line that reflects everything I’ve learned as an athlete. Gear that performs, fits well, and is designed with intention. BEAR10 is that dream brought to life.
This brand is personal. It’s built from the ground up, started in the summer of 2024, funded by my own savings, and shaped by years of experience in the sport. Every piece has been tested by riders, refined through feedback, and designed with purpose.
We’re starting small, limited editions, thoughtful designs, and a focus on quality over quantity. This isn’t about fast growth. It’s about doing things right, learning along the way, and building something that lasts.
At the heart of it all is the mountain bike community, the people who ride, explore, push themselves, and support each other. That’s what inspires me every day, and that’s who this brand is for.
